It’s not actually a tango but a milonga, a dance that was a predecessor to the tango and is a little faster, but who’s nitpicking? CNS Rome reports that thousands of tango dancers, most from Italy, arranged a “Street Tango Flashmob” to dance in St. Peter’s Square last Wednesday, Dec. 17th, for the pope’s regular General Audience… on what just happened to be Pope Francis’s birthday. Cristina Camorani, who organized it, used Facebook to invite people to “La Più Grande Milonga del Mondo — the biggest milonga in the world.”
