(Email subscribers: Click on the post headline to watch the video at our website.)
Just after Christmas, on the Feast of St. John the Apostle, Archbishop Daniel Schnurr ordained Fr. Andrew Cordonnier a priest at his home parish of St. Remy in Russia (OH). This video by a friend gives all a look at the beautiful ceremony and equally beautiful church.
According to the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, ordinations at a priest’s home parish rather than the cathedral are rare but not unknown, and Archbishop Schnurr was himself ordained at his home church. After his ordination, Fr. Cordonnier wears a Marian chasuble that was a gift from his grandparents.
Fr. Cordonnier celebrated his first Mass at St. Remy on Dec. 28, and has been assigned Parochial Vicar of Our Lady of Lourdes parish in Western Hills/Cincinnati.
