Three New Priests for Toledo
Toledo Bishop Daniel Thomas ordained three men to the priesthood this weekend, one of whom studied at Cincinnati’s Mount St. Mary Seminary of the West.
Fr. George Mahas, Fr. Paul Schreiner, and Fr. Scott Woods became “priests after the order of Melchizedek” Saturday at Toledo’s Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral. Fr. Schreiner studied here with the men who were ordained for Cincinnati earlier in May.
Fr. Woods studied at St. Meinrad’s School of Theology and Seminary in Indiana, and Fr. Mahas studied at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus. Fr. Schreiner grew up in Tiffin (OH), where he attended St. Mary Catholic Church.
“May their lives be a ransom for many,” Bishop Thomas said in his homily at the ordination Mass, according to the Diocese of Toledo’s Facebook page.
