Through July 23, “The Life of Mary in Image and Word” at the University of Dayton (OH) Roesch Library. Various artists and art forms interpret scenes from Mary’s life. July 20-24, Abide: Forming Missionary Disciples Teen Retreat at Mount St. Joseph University (Delhi/Cincinnati). Targeting teens who have heard the Gospel and responded, Abide is designed to meet the need for initiatory catechesis in our youth as put forward by St. John Paul II in Catechesi Tradendae, “the definitive aim of catechesis is to put people not only in touch but in communion, in intimacy, with Jesus Christ.” Abide also roots and equips them for the great commission imparted by Christ to every Christian, to “go therefore, and make disciples. July 22-29, 30th Annual Presentation Ministries Annual Bible Institute at Xavier University. Theme:”Let Us Be Instructed in God’s Word.” Single- and multiple-day presentations; talks and liturgies; local and national presenters. Masses celebrated by Archbishop Schnurr, Bishop Binzer, Fr. Chris Clay. Pay as you can for sessions, no fee for liturgies. Founded by the late Fr. Al Lauer and a summer staple for many around the region. July 22 – 27, Contemplative Retreat at the Jesuit Spiritual Center at Milford (Milford, OH). For many years, Hans Koenen, SJ, and Truus Sijm, OP, led a contemplative retreat at the Center; a new team follows in their footsteps using their format. Leaders: Wanda Wetli, CSJ; Walter Brueggemann; Al Bischoff, SJ, and Dan Roche. Sr. Wanda will teach Tai Chi Chih. Walter will share insights from his book Sabbath as Resistance. Fr.
