Seton Photos on Facebook
Winners of Seton High School’s monthly photo contests have a wider potential audience than whoever walks through the Price Hill (Cincinnati) school’s halls: Anyone on Facebook.
Erin Grady, the school’s Public Relations and Marketing Director, manages the school’s Facebook page. “The contest was designed as an opportunity to exhibit our students’ work, but their photos are so fantastic that I can’t help but post them to Facebook,” she says.
Art teacher Erin Vanover started the contests. They’re open to anyone in the school, staff and students alike. Each month has a different theme.
“The ones posted for February are in the theme of ‘precipitation,’ which we’ve definitely had a great deal of this winter!” says Grady.
Like many Catholic high schools and parishes, Seton uses a Facebook page to share events and news. Photographs are a natural way to adapt a photo contest to Facebook’s new, photo-heavy design — and to let the photographers share their work with others.
Established in 1857 as Cedar Grove Academy and renamed in 1928, Seton High School for girls is associated with the Sisters of Charity.
