September: St. Patrick Church and Shrine, Taylor Mill
September’s Heart of the Month, the Sacred Heart window over the tabernacle at St. Patrick Catholic Church & Shrine in Taylor Mill (KY), was sent in by reader Thomas Craven. The church does, indeed, have a shrine to Our Lady of Knock and holds a novena every August. It also has a Perpetual Adoration chapel and a grotto.
The window is called the “Eucharistic Heart of Jesus” and was made by two parishioners, Larry Keene and Mike McGuire. It depicts the fountain of life flowing from the pierced heart of Christ. The crown of thorns is three-dimensional and the piece also includes a unique fountain symbolizing the flow of graces from Christ to His people.
