In a photo Philadelphia Weekly called “An American Pieta,” the body of Fire Chaplain Fr. Mychal Judge, OFM, is carried out of the World Trade Center. He died while ministering to 9/11 survivors and victims and was the first of more than 2,600 recorded deaths at the building. Almost 3000 people perished in four terrorist attacks that morning 15 years ago.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace.
