Photo: Valentines, Old School
AP US History students at Roger Bacon High School (St. Bernard, OH) celebrated Valentine’s Day “old school” this year. They assumed the identity of a historical figure from the 1920s historical figure and went ‘speed dating,’ making brief one-on-one presentations to their costumed classmates about why they were the most impactful person of that era and presenting them with a Valentine. Messages included “The next great story I write is ours” (F. Scott Fitgerald), “Are you the theory of relativity, because you’re pretty special” (Albert Einstein), and “Tain’t nobody’s business if I do… like you” (Billie Holiday).
