Famous for decorating the porches of their UD houses with signs and flags, UD students and alumni can make a “virtual porch” anywhere. Sophomore Madeline Simmonds and her high school teacher Abby Teeters (a UD alum) pose with the flag Teeters displays in her classroom on the “porch” of the Columbus high school. Click to enlarge.

1000 Words is a feature highlighting a single photo. Here, UD sophomore Madeline Simmonds poses on the “porch” of Bishop Watterson High School in Columbus, with one of her favorite teachers there — Abby Teeters, UD class of 2004. Posted in response to the University of Dayton’s “I Love UD” campaign, the photo shows that Flyers don’t have to be at UD to find a porch to decorate: They can make a UD porch anywhere.
