The St. Patrick division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians (AOH) presented St. Ignatius Loyola School (Montfort Heights, OH) eighth grader Madison Boosveld with a $300 high school tuition grant this month, for her essay on “The Role of the Irish During the American Civil War.” Named for Fr. Don McCarthy, who has supported the AOH since 2004, the scholarship is given each year in honor of Irish Catholics and their contributions to the United States. Madison will attend St. Ursula Academy (Cincinnati) next year.
