Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine visited St. Joseph Elementary School, one of eight Catholic inner-city schools supported supported by the CISE fund, to meet students and teachers this fall. DeWine’s son, Judge Pat DeWine, sits on the Advisory Board for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s Catholic Inner-city Schools Education Fund, which raises millions for tuition.

The poverty rate hovers at about 90% for the schools, which also include include St. Boniface, St. Francis Seraph, Holy Family, St. Lawrence, Resurrection, Corryville Catholic, and St. Francis de Sales. At St. Joseph, first grade students were eager to show off their academic and technical skills.
