More than 100 students and staff members at The Good Shepherd Catholic Montessori School (Madisonville/Mariemont, OH) wore special t-shirts last week to welcome teacher Julia Damico back after an eight-week leave for cancer treatments.

Students sold the gray shirts featuring Damio’s favorite quotes — “carpe diem” (front) and “A day without laughter is a wasted day” (back) — as a fundraiser to help with her medical expenses. “The school rallied around the Damico family during Julia’s surgery and recovery,” said GSCMS Executive Director Dan Teller. “Parents provided meals. Several moms accompanied Julia to doctor’s appointments. Follow teachers covered her classes.  And most importantly, the children prayed for her continuously.”
