“My mother taught us our prayers and she’d say, ‘Pray that you’d be a good boy, and a tall boy, and a doctor,’” Fr. Earl Fernandes, STD, says in a video about his vocation story released Wednesday by the Archdiocese of Cincinnati’s Vocations Office.

Now the Dean of Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West, Fr. Fernandes did turn out to be a good boy and the tallest of his brothers, but God had a different calling for him.

Fr. Fernandes’s story is the second of four short vocations videos shot at the seminary by US Digital Partners, a Cincinnati-based web company that also produced a 10-minute look at the seminary for the Vocations Office that we told you about last month.

The first short video, released last week, looked at the vocations of several young seminarians. Two more videos will be released shortly.
