The NCAA tapped the University of Dayton’s basketball arena as one of the nation’s most exciting in a web feature last month.

The second of two posts, each highlighting five men’s college basketball venues “that you must experience,” the piece highlighted UD’s arena for its spirit and atmosphere.

Dayton’s basketball arena kind of takes after its team’s persona – consistently one of the best in the country, but not always recognized as such.,” the web feature read. “Since 2001, UD Arena has played a major role in hosting the NCAA tournament. That was the first year it hosted the annual play-in game, and when the tournament expanded in 2011, the venue hosted all of the First Four games.

“And its fans sure know how to make some noise. Whether it’s to take in a Flyers or an NCAA tournament game, UD Arena is certainly worth the trip.”

Filmed in 2012, the two-minute video from UD featured on the 2016 post includes clips of the crowd and games, interviews with players, quotes about Dayton from national sports publications, and even shots of local businesses posting Flyer signs and posters.
