Last Day of School
This reflection by Kris Staverman sums up the feelings of parents everywhere. The Catholic Beat wishes all graduates good luck, best wishes, and many blessings.
For 18 years, we’ve had a daughter at St. Henry School and saying goodbye is not easy. However, we take comfort in knowing that their education is based on the Catholic faith. They learned to begin each day by thanking God and saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Before meals, they thanked God for what they were given. And before they left school each day, they prayed again. And through those 18 years, they learned what was taught in books, but more importantly, what was not taught in books. And that is service to others.
If anyone ever asks if a Catholic education is worth it, the answer is yes. Because in the Bible we are taught: “Train the young in the way they should go; even when old, they will not swerve from it.” ~ Proverbs 22:6
Kris Staverman’s youngest daughter finished eighth grade at St. Henry School this spring.
