Keep Vigil with the Lord Tomorrow Night
The seminarians of The Athenaeum of Ohio/Mount St Mary’s Seminary of the West invite all to join them in an evening of Eucharistic Adoration, music, and prayer Friday night.
Deacon Russ Feldkamp will preside at Vigil Praise from 7-9 pm in the Mount Washington/Cincinnati seminary’s St. Gregory Chapel. “There will be praise and worship, sung night prayer, and, for the first time, a social outside on the porticoes in front of The Athenaeum to take advantage of the awesome Spring weather,” say organizers.
Deacon Feldkamp, a former marine “who gave up his rifle for a rosary,” is a charismatic speaker “whose passion is walking with teens and adults that seek a real encounter with Jesus Christ and helping them grow as committed disciples” says Dr. Tobais Nathe, director of The Athenaeum’s St. James Project.
A graduate of the US Naval Academy, Deacon Feldkamp was ordained a deacon for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati in 2007. His devotion to the Holy Spirit is a family affair: one of his two daughters is a missionary with FOCUS (the Fellowship of Catholic University Students) and the other is studying at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
Modeled after Encounter youth prayer festivals, which feature Adoration, Vigil Praise is meant for people of all ages. Vigil Praise at The Athenaeum is sponsored by Encounter Cincinnati, the St. James Project, Parrhesia, The Athenaeum of Ohio/Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West, and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.
