July 4,  Pray~Hope~Believe 5K Run/Walk at the Colerain Twp. (OH) Municipal Building, 8:30 am. Held by St. Ann Church (Groesbeck, OH) in memory of parishioner Tony Merk, who died of pediatric brain cancer at age 6. Benefits: The Pray~Hope~Believe Foundation (PHBF) which supports pediatric brain tumor research and gives direct aid to children and teens who have a life-threatening condition and their families. July 4, Wapakoneta Firecracker 5K Run/Walk at the Auglaize County Fairgrounds, part of the St. Joseph Church Festival. Benefits St. Joseph Church and Friends of the Wapakoneta Library. Special price for most patriotic. Same-day registration: $22. For information click here.


July 9, 5th Annual Centerville Lions Club 5K at Oak Grove Park (Centerville, OH). Benefits Brigid’s Path for drug-addicted babies, Lions Eye Bank of West Central Ohio, Centerville High School (scholarships), and First Dawn Food Pantry. Race time: 8:30 am. July 16, Vivian’s Victory 5K and One-Mile Family Victory Lap at Blue Ash Summit Park (Blue Ash, OH). Benefits families who have received a poor prenatal diagnosis. Race time: 9 am. July 16, 5th Annual COA “By the River” Run/Walk in Covington. Sponsored by the Covington Outreach Assn., a consortium of area churches including St. Teresa of the Child Jesus Catholic Church. July 23, Hustle for Hope 5K Run/Walk at Chatfield College (St. Martin, OH), 9 am. $18 adults, $10 under 18 ($3 off with donation of a school supply). Benefits: Hope Emergency school supply drive. Course through Chatfield’s historic campus; fast and flat! Register online here.
