FORMED Evangelization Conferences Set for August
The Archdiocese of Cincinnati will host a two evangelization conferences for parishes using FORMED, the online library of catechetical materials made available to them last year, in August.
Sponsored by Archbishop Dennis Schnurr and the archdiocese’s Office of Evangelization and Catechesis, and in conjunction with the Augustine Institute (producers of FORMED), the one-day conferences will help parishes use the large array of materials for groups and promote them to individual members.
“The FORMED Evangelization Conferences will provide relevant and practical training to help parish leaders be successful in reaching the hearts and minds of modern men and women through their specific parish ministries,” says spokesperson Louise Karas.
“This is for all parish and school-based religion teachers, DREs, CREs, catechetical leaders, coordinators, youth ministers, marriage coordinators, baptismal coordinators, priests, deacons, and volunteers simply interested in learning more. Learn to make FORMED a fruitful experience in your parish!”
Comprising a variety of books, audio talks, video series, catechetical programs, and feature films, FORMED is available to individual subscribers and parishes for a monthly fee. The Archdiocese of Cincinnati gave interested parishes a grant to most of a year’s subscription to the service, which allows parishioners and anyone in the parish’s geographical area to sign on with a parish code (see our story here).
Materials come from a variety of well-regarded sources including Lighthouse Catholic Media, Ignatius Press, the St. Paul Center for Biblical Studies, and the Augustine Institute. Employees of The Augustine Institute will staff the conferences, showing participants how parishes across the country use materials in study groups, faith formation classes, men’s and women’s groups, and other settings, including how to use the site’s library of workbooks and leader guides.
The conference dates and times are:
- Aug. 17, Receptions North (Fairfield, OH), 8 am – 4 pm
- Aug. 18, Piqua Country Club (Piqua, OH), 8 am – 4 pm
