First Day: St. Louis, Batesville, IN
Grades three to eight at St. Louis Catholic School in Batesville (IN) start the year with an afternoon party at the community pool.
St. Louis, built in 1871 and originally staffed by Franciscan sisters from the Oldenburg community, originally served a German-speaking Catholic population. The K-8 school now serves 250 families and operates a pre-school.
It is a No Child Left Behind National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.
