Festival Set to Celebrate 200 Years of Precious Blood Missionaries
A day of praise and service marking the 200 years of the Missionaries of the Precious Blood is set for this Sunday, Aug. 9th, beginning at 1 pm..
Sponsored by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and the Northern Network of Youth Ministers, Jubilation! will be held at The Spiritual Center of Maria Stein and the Shrine of the Holy Relics (Maria Stein, OH) and will include activities for all ages, live music, outdoor Mass, and fireworks.
Activities include games (including Life Size Foosball, Low Ropes Courses and 9 Squares in the Air); jumping houses; on-site service projects and a Red Cross bloodmobile for donations; Adoration and other prayer activities; food; and more.
Service projects will include:
making blankets for Project Linus
making dresses out of pillowcases for girls in Haiti
making a Precious Blood Chaplet
making mats for the homeless
writing letters to seminarians and women in formation
decorating picture frames for the Elizabeth New Life Center
Main stage entertainment begins at 2 pm and will feature local musicians and testimonials beginning at 2pm. At 5 pm Marie Miller (known for her song 6’ 2’’ — featured on Dancing With the Stars) and L’Angelus will begin the main concert.
Adoration will be available all day in the Shrine of the Holy Relics and at 7:30 on the main stage Bishop Joe Binzer and Fr. Gene Schnipke, CPPS, will celebrate Mass.
Fireworks will follow.
Activities are free, but the organizers ask all to bring a canned good to donate. Lawn chairs are welcome but coolers are not allowed. Prizes will be available for those who complete at least five activities.
