Performing since the 1970s, Ambrosia will close out the Greater Cincinnati Performing Arts Society’s 2013-2014 concert season next week.

May 1, Theology on Tap with Rozann Carter, Fr. Robert Barron’s Word on Fire Ministries at Cancun Resaurante (Norwood, OH), 7 pm. No fee. Theology on Tap is a national program for people in their 20s and 30s that brings speakers to casual gathering places.

 

May 3, Archdiocese of Cincinnati Golden Jubilee Mass (South) at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Chains (Cincinnati), 2 pm. Archbishop Dennis Schnurr will celebrate.

 

May 3, Archdiocese of Cincinnati Golden Jubilee Mass (North) at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Parish (Dayton, OH), 2 pm. Bishop Joe Binzer will celebrate.

 

May 3, David R. Rinderle Memorial Golf Outing at Legendary Run Golf Course. First annual event to benefit the Center for Respite Care. For information see www.DFRmemorial.org.

 

May 6: “Experiencing Separation and Divorce” (Annulment information will be available), Deacon Tim Crooker at St. John (Dry Ridge, OH), 7 pm. Part of the “Seeing them Through the Eyes of God” speaker series. May 8, 9th Annual Care Net Pregnancy Services of Northern Kentucky Banquet at Receptions Conference Center (Erlanger). Roland Wilson, former CEO of The National Fatherhood Initiative, will present the keynote address: “Not Just Life but Abundant Life.”  Good Morning Cincinnati host Sheila Grey will emcee; music by Velvet Soul. May 8: Fr. Eric Bowman, “Lessons for the Heart from Our Lady of Fatima: A Guide to Help the Heart Follow the Will of God,” a Theology on Tap Dayton presentation at Oregon Express, 7 – 9 pm. Presentation begins at 7:30, social time begins at 7. No fee. Theology on Tap is a national program for people in their 20s and 30s that brings speakers to casual gathering places.

 

May 9, Holy Hour with Icon of the Black Madonna at St. Gertrude Parish (Madeira, OH), 7 pm. Holy Hour and Marian devotions, including veneration of a traveling copy of the icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa that has been to 24 countries for Catholic an Orthodox veneration as part of the ongoing From Ocean to Ocean campaign for life and family. May 9, Battle for Life: A Pro-Life Battle of the Bands and Youth Rally at Nutter Center, Wright State University (Dayton, OH), 7 pm. May 10, Rosary with Archbishop Schnurr at Planned Parenthood. Archbishop Schnurr will celebrate the 8 am Mass at Holy Name Church (Mt. Auburn, OH) followed by the rosary outside of the abortion clinic on the same street. For information call (513) 721-5608.

 

May 10, Lay Pastoral Ministry Program Informational Meeting at The Athenaeum of Ohio/Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West, 10:30 am. Founded in 1973, The Athenaeum’s program for lay students is one of the oldest in the country, and is required for men who study for the diaconate. Classes are in the evenings and on weekends and are taught by seminary staff. Masters degree, certificate, and certificate at the master’s level available. For information call (513) 231-1200.

 

May 10, Run for the Call Spaghetti Dinner at Holy Redeemer Church (New Bremen, OH), following 5 pm Mass. Sponsored by the Serra Club of Sidney/St. Mary’s. Free will donation accepted; proceeds benefit seminarians..

 

May 10, University of Notre Dame Concert Band at Mother Theresa Catholic Elementary School (Liberty Twp., OH). The 75-piece touring band will perform variety of band classics, marches, show tunes, and traditional Notre Dame favorites; the concert will also feature baritone Stephen Lancaster and the Notre Dame New Orleans Brass Band. Co-sponsored by MTCES and the Notre Dame Club of Greater Cincinnati. Event begnis with Mass at 3:30, followed by a barbeque dinner at 5; concert from 6 – 6:30. Pray and process in front of the late-term abortion facility with a traveling copy of the  icon of Our Lady of Czestochowa that has been to 24 countries for Catholic an Orthodox veneration as part of the ongoing From Ocean to Ocean campaign for life and family.. May 10, Ambrosia at the McAuley High School Performing Arts Center, presented by the Greater Cincinnati Performing Arts Society Season. Part of each ticket sold goes to the Greater Cincinnati Catholic elementary school of your choice. For information or reservations, go to www.gcparts.org.
