April 18, Service Featuring The Crucifixion by John Stainer at St. Cecilia Church (Oakely, OH), 7 pm. Written in 1887, this musical meditation on the Passion combines choir, solo voices, and scripture readings in retelling the story of Good Friday. The popular annual service includes the use of music, light and shadow to bring the listener nearer the sacrifice of Our Lord. No fee; all welcome.

April 18, St. John Passion Play at Lockland Christian Church (Lockland, OH), 7 pm. In its 97th season, this play first put on by St. John the Baptist parish in Over-the-Rhine in gratitude for the lives of soldiers spared in World War I continues at various area venues. May 24, Married Couple Family Day at the Jesuit Spiritual Center in Milford (OH), 9 am – 5 pm. Featuring juggler and storyteller Tom Sparough and his wife, teacher and fiber artist Geralyn. All couples welcome, married one year or 50. Children age 3 and welcome. Opening and closing sessions and lunch with the kids; focus and work sessions for parents to enrich their marriage, while the kids have special programming of their own. April 26, “Hearts Aflame/Fire of Love” Divine Mercy Conferences for Adults and Teens at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish (Burlington, KY). Fr. Dan Cambra, MIC, will present this conference for the fourth consecutive year. Speakers include Mother Margaret Mary; Abvess of teh Children of Mary and Deacon Ralph Poyo. Deacon Bob Gutendorf (Dayton, OH) will emcee the conference and Christopher and Sarah Burrows (Maysville, KY) will emcee the concurrent conference for teens. Music by Jason Shields and Braden Dorsey. April 26, 2014 Chatfield College Quilt, Craft and Car Show at the Marietta, OH, campus, 10 am – 5 pm. This annual event is a regioinal favorite with a juried quilt show, live music, food, and activities for people of all ages. Tickets $3 adults, $2 seniors, no charge for children 12 and under.
April 26, Bill Tonnis Concert at Badin High School’s Little Theater (Hamilton, OH), 7 pm. Sponsored by St. Joseph parish. The Pastoral Associate for Oureach at Our Lady of the Visitation Church, Bill left his career as a radio newscaster to abswer God’s call to writie and performing music, and has recorded three CDs since 2007. April 27, Eastertide Vespers at The Athenaeum of Ohio/Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West (Mt. Washington, OH) Chapel of St. Gregory the Great, 7 pm. The Athenaeum Chorale and Seminary Schola will sing and Fr. Paul Ruwe, Spiritual Director of the seminary, will celebrate this service, with accompaniment by the Cincinnati Brassworks and Timpani.
