Legendary pro-life attorney Tom Brechja, founder of the Thomas More Society, w ill speak at Northern Kentucky Right to Life's annual event Sunday afternoon at The Gardens of Park Hills.

Legendary pro-life attorney Tom Brejcha, founder of the Thomas More Society, was scheduled to speak at Northern Kentucky Right to Life’s annual event Sunday afternoon at The Gardens of Park Hills, but a health issue prevented his attendance. Another attorney from the Thomas More Society will speak.

Sept. 16-18, St. Peter Oktoberfest (Huber Heights, OH). Live music, German food, craft vendors for early Christmas shopping, rafles, games of chance, Polka Mass Saturday at 3 pm. Sponsored by St. Peter, Our Lady of the Rosary, Holy Cross and St. Adalbert Churches.

Sept. 17, “Mirroring Mercy in Today’s World” Conference with Fr. Mitch Pacwa at St. Catherine of Siena Church (Ft. Thomas, KY), 9:30 am – 2:30 pm.  One of the foremost experts on MERCY regarding scripture, tradition and the Church teaching, Fr. Mitch is a world-renowned  Scripture scholar who is fluent in 12 languages and known to many for his many appearances on EWTN and EWTN Radio. Tickets: $15; seating is limited. Sept. 17, 41st Annual Northern Area Religious Education Congress at the Upper Valley Career Center (Piqua, OH), 8:30 am – 12:30 pm. Topics will center on the upcoming theme for Catechetical Sunday – Prayer: The Faith Prayed. Keynote speaker: Dr. Timone Davis, Loyola University in Chicago.

Sept. 17, 2nd Annual Blessing of the Aircraft at Grimes Field (Urbana, OH), 4 pm. Bishop Joe Binzer will bless aircraft and pilots for the feast of St. Joseph of Cupertino, patron saint of aviation (Sept. 18). Sponsored by St. Mary Church (Urbana); event begins at 4 pm; blessing at 5 pm. Pilots are welcome to fly in for the event; contact the airfield for details.

Sept. 18, NewCath Alumni Softball Tournament at Newport Central Catholic High School, 2 pm.  All former NewCath players, families, and friends invited; former players will be divided into two teams for the game. SPEAKER CHANGE: Sept. 18, Northern Kentucky Right to Life 43rd Annual Celebration for Life at The Gardens of Park HIlls (Park Hills, KY), 1:15. Keynote speaker Thomas Brejcha, who defended pro-life pioneer Joe Scheidler in a lawsuit that lasted two decades, and now defends Center for Medical Progress foudner and citizen journalist David Deleiden was not able to make the event because of a health issue; another attorney from the Thomas More Society will speak in his place. Doors open 1:15, pro-life film at 1:30, refreshments and exhibits 2:00, speaker 2:30. Tickets $10. For information call (859) 431-6380.
