Sept. 9, National Day of Prayer for Peace. USCCB President Archbishop Joseph Kurtz has called for a day of peace in response to racially charged violence in our country.
Sept. 9, Diocese of Covington Day of Prayer and Penance for Peace. All churches will be open for private prayer; students in all Catholic schools will pray the rosary at the same time; parishes will hold Eucharistic Adoration. At 7 pm Bishop Foys will preside at a Holy Hour for Peace at the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption. All welcome.
Sept. 9, Mass for Peace at the Church of the Resurrection (Bond Hill/Cincinnati), 9 am. Archbishop Schnurr will celebrate; part of the National Day for Peace.
Sept. 9, Mass for Peace at Precious Blood Church (Dayton, OH), 8:30 am. Bishop Joe Binzer will celebrate; part of the National Day for Peace.
Sept. 9, Prayer Service for Peace at St. Andrew the Apostle Church (Indianapolis), 6 pm. Part of the National Day for Peace, Fr. Doug Hunter will celebrate.
Sept. 10, Marc Broussard Concert at St. Xavier High School Performance Center (Cincinnati), 7:30 pm. A Cincy Music Series 2016-2017 Concert. $25 general seating; $40 reserved seating. More information to come.
Sept. 10, National Day of Remembrance for Aborted Children Observation at Gate of Heaven Cemetery (Cincinnati), 9:30 am. For the second year, Bishop Joe Binzer will lead prayer in a ceremony sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, who contributed the cemetery’s memorial to the unborn dead. One of dozens of ceremonies around the country; all welcome.

Singer/songwriter Broussard will kick off the 2016-2017 Cincy Music Series (formerly the Greater Cincinnati Performing Arts Society) concert season. Sept. 11, Historic Pre-War Auto Show at the Centennial Barn (Springfield Twp./Wyoming, OH), 11 am – 4 pm. Annual car show sponsored by the Franicscan Sisters of the Poor. All vehicles built between 1880-1940. More information to come.
Sept. 11, Vespers for Peace at St. Mary’s Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption (Covington), 3 pm. Bishop Foys will celebrate. In memorial of the 15th anniversary of the terrorist attack on New York City; all welcome.
