July 1, One Church of Mercy Conference on the persecution of Eastern Catholics with Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Peter Cardinal Rai at the Church of the Annuciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Clifton/Cincinnati), 9 am – 12:30 pm. Morning prayer; presentations on Eastern Catholic rites (includign the Maronite and Syro-Malabar rites), religious freedom by Cardinal Rai; Bishop A. July 1, Pontifical Divine Liturgy at St. Anthony of Padua Maronite Catholic Church (Walnut Hills/Cincinnati), 6 pm. Archbishop Dennis Schnurr and Maronite Patriarch Mar Bechara Peter Cardinal Rai will celebrate this liturgy combining elements of both the Maronite Divine Liturgy and the Roman Mass; a Fortnight for Freedom event. July 4, Pray~Hope~Believe 5K Run/Walk at the Colerain Twp. (OH) Municipal Building, 8:30 am. Held by St. Ann Church (Groesbeck, OH) in memory of parishioner Tony Merk, who died of pediatric brain cancer at age 6. Benefits: The Pray~Hope~Believe Foundation (PHBF) which supports pediatric brain tumor research and gives direct aid to children and teens who have a life-threatening condition and their families.
