Dayton United Way Donates to Planned Parenthood
A new report by the conservative group 2nd Vote documenting 2014 United Way donations shows that Dayton (OH)’s United Way campaign contributed more than $11,000 to Planned Parenthood of Southwest Ohio, headquartered in Cincinnati.
Overall, only 5% of United Way campaigns contribute to the abortion giant, 2nd Vote says. The online report, Pro-Life Guide to United Way, shows whether every United Way chapter in the country gave donations to Planned Parenthood last year, and how much.
According to the report, Greater Cincinnati United Way did not make any donations to the abortion business. While few Ohio campaigns did, the United Way of Greater Dayton Area donation is dwarfed by donations to Planned Parenthood by the other Ohio campaigns that did, especially United Way of Summit County (Akron), which gave $147,632. Campaigns in Columbus, Cleveland, Wooster, and Canton ($77,600, $35,700, $40,000 and $59,200, respectively) also donated for a total of more than $371,000 from Ohio.
The report shows no donations from Kentucky, and a total of about $75,000 from Bloomington and Indianapolis in Indiana.
2nd Vote scores companies and non-profits for their support of liberal and conservative causes, providing ratings based on their stances on pro-life, marriage, environment, education, and Second Amendment issues.
