CORRECTION (3/23): SETON HIGH SCHOOL ALSO PARTICIPATED

A first-ever art show for Cincinnati Catholic high schools drew a big crowd at the Flats Art Gallery (Price Hill/Cincinnati) at its opening Saturday.

Created by teachers at Elder High School (Price Hill) and Mother of Mercy High School (Westwood),”Imagine Our Spirit” drew entries from nine high schools and awarded $1000 in scholarship money to student artists.

Each school was permitted up to five entries. An independent judge chosen by the gallery chose the pieces to be displayed from more than 70 entries, as well as the three winning pieces, an honorable mention, and a best of show. Students submitted works in a variety of media, including oil paintings, colored pencil, and ceramic. Thirty-one pieces are displayed at the gallery, including at least two from each school.
