Sr. Mary Grace Thule, OP, was born and raised in Cincinnati. A graduate of St. Ursula Academy and the University of Cincinnati, she interned at the Cincinnati Art Museum, taught art in Cincinnati Public Schools, and had a custom art business before entering the Dominicans.

She lived in a cloistered monastery in Cincinnati until 1989, when she moved to St. Dominic’s Monastery in Washington, DC. She now lives at Caterina Benincasa Monastery, in New Castle, DE. Throughout her monastic life she has remained an artist and her work is sold at the monastery’s gift shop and online at Artspan.

“Abide in Me” is one of several Sacred Heart woodcuts Sr. Mary Grace has for sale. It is part of a series of woodcuts and oil paintings she did for the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits). Notecards are also available. You can see a catalog of all those works here.
