Win Free Tickets to Blue Highway

Acclaimed bluegrass band Blue Highway will perform at St. X on January 26. Win free tickets to the concert by “liking” the Greater Cincinnati Performing Arts Society’s Facebook page.
The Greater Cincinnati Performing Arts Society will give away four tickets to its upcoming Blue Highway concert to someone who “likes” its Facebook page before Jan. 15th.
The annual GCPAS concert series features top, Grammy-nominated acoustic musicians and bands who perform at medium-sized venues, and gives $5 of every ticket sold to the area Catholic elementary school of your choice.
Two-time Grammy-nominated Blue Highway, “ one of the most esteemed and influential groups in contemporary bluegrass,” will perform on Jan. 26 at the St. Xavier High School Performance Center. After 17 years of performing around the world, the ensemble still has all its original members.
They include Jason Burleson (banjo, guitar, mandolin), Rob Ickes (Dobro), Shawn Lane (mandolin, fiddle, vocals), Tim Stafford (guitar, vocals), and Wayne Taylor (bass, vocals) — each “masters of their respective roles.” Together, they have made 10 albums, won a Dove Award, topped the Bluegrass Unlimited radio charts, and won numerous International Bluegrass Music Association awards.
Tickets to the 7:30 pm concert are $30 in advance, $35 at the door. Purchase tickets at the GCPAS web site, where you can designate which Catholic school you want to receive a donation.
To enter for the ticket giveaway, click here for the link to the GCPAS Facebook page and enter your email address in the contest box. Be sure to listen to the last hour of the Son Rise Morning Show at 8:10 on Jan. 21st for another chance to win tickets.
