Our Lady of Guadalupe at Immaculate Conception School

The new statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe, blessed at Mass last Wednesday, that will hang at Immaculate Conception School.

Immaculate Conception School in Dayton (OH) celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe with Mass and the blessing of a new statue of the Patroness of the Americas.

“Our Hispanic Families participated and made it extra special,” says Mayra Alza, Coordinator for Latino Outreach for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati Schools Office.

“All school children participated, but our Hispanic children were dressed in traditional Mexican outfits. They had bilingual music and petitions as well.”

Fr. David Brinkmoeller, pastor of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church and St. Helen Church in Dayton (OH), celebrated the Mass and blessed a new statue of Our Lady of Guadalupe, which will be hung in the school.

After Mass the school continued their celebration with a party in the cafeteria featuring hot chocolate and Mexican pastries.
